She - I’m home!

He - Wow.

She - I saw Rebecca in the market place today and she was so excited it seems that her ... (She looks upward and sees the hole in the roof)… What happened?!

He - Wow.

She - Our roof!

He - Wow

She - What happened to our roof!?

He - It’s gone.

She - I can see that! I can also see the sky from my living room. And I’m not suppose to see the sky from my living room. What happened to the roof?

He - They pulled it up and set it aside.

She - They?

He - Yeah.

She - Hello? Hello? Is anybody in there? My roof is missing and I want to serve dinner, but I can’t because I’m afraid birds will fly overhead. I’d like to call the kids home from the neighbors, but I can’t because I don’t want them to get sunburned in the middle of my living room! Hello!

He - He just skipped out of the house.

She - Skipped? Who skipped? First he pulled my roof aside, now he’s skipping out of the house? Who is this miracle man?

He - That’s right! It was a miracle! He talked, they pulled, they lowered, He forgave, they doubted, He spoke, he got up, he skipped! A miracle.

Remember when Jesus was visiting someone’s home and four men moved the roof aside so that they could lower their friend down to Jesus? Imagine what would happen if the wife was not home during the event. She arrives just after Jesus and the crowd has left. Her husband is standing at the window watching their departure. He is in shock and amazement. During the dialogue she is trying – with a great amount of frustration – to find out what happened to her roof.

There is a message within the laughter!
