Kayla -- (Pulling out an old scarf). This is beautiful! (Sneezes) And dusty. Grandma probably hasn’t worn this for years. I wonder why not? … Mom! … Oh! Look at these gloves! These are perfect! … Mom!
Brenda -- (From off stage) What, Kayla?
Kayla -- Come up here!
Brenda -- What do you want?
Kayla -- Come up here, I want to show you something!
Brenda -- In a minute. Grandma and I are pulling cookies out of the oven.
Kayla -- Cookies?
Grandma -- (From off stage) Would you like a snickerdoodle. dear?
Kayla -- Any milk?
Brenda -- Kayla!
Kayla -- What?
Brenda -- Be polite, now.
Kayla -- (Under her breath, unheard by those downstairs) I just wanted some milk.
Grandma -- No problem, Kayla, I’ll bring some up in a minute.
Kayla -- Thanks, Grandma!
Brenda -- (Entering) What is it you wanted to show me?
Kayla -- Look these gloves! And this scarf! They’re a perfect match for my wedding dress!
Brenda -- What’s all this stuff?
Kayla -- I found it in this old trunk. Grandma said I could look through her attic for something for the wedding.
Brenda -- What are you looking for?
Kayla -- I don’t know, I just wanted, you know, ‘Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue”.
Brenda -- Something old is right. This attic is stuffed with junk. Grandma needs a garage sale to get rid of this stuff.
Kayla -- Get rid of it!? No way! These are treasures! I’d never part with any of it.
Brenda -- You always were like your grandmother/ Part pack rat. So what are you going to do with the scarf and gloves?
Kayla -- Wear them, of course.
Brenda -- At your wedding?
