Dad -- Brandon!
Brandon Hang on a sec.
Dad -- Hang on? Did you tell me to hang on?
Brandon -- I’m almost done with this level.
Dad -- Oh sure you can finish a stupid video game, but your schoolwork, now that’s another story!
Brandon -- What?
Dad -- You heard me.
Brandon -- What are you talking about?
Dad -- Your ‘F’ in English!
Brandon -- My what?! Oh great! I just died! Now I have to go back to level 5. Thanks a lot.
Dad -- Level 5? You might have to back to ‘level 5’ in school. How’d you like to redo this whole school year?
Brandon -- No way!
Dad -- Yeah, ‘way’. An ‘F’ in English will do that.
Brandon -- I didn’t flunk English.
Dad -- That’s not what your teacher says.
Brandon -- Mr. Harper’s lying!
Dad -- Right.
Brandon -- What didn’t I finish?
Mother enters – steaming. She has envelopes in her hand.
Mother -- Samuel! We need to talk.
Dad -- Absolutely. You’ve been way too lax with Brandon, Dorothy. He spends more time with his video game than he should.
Brandon -- What did Mr. Harper say?
Dad -- Did you know he’s getting an “F” in English?
Mother -- An “F”? Brandon!
Brandon -- I’m not getting an “F”!
Dad -- That’s not what I heard. He didn’t finish his schoolwork.
Mother -- Well I wonder where he gets that?
Dad -- Gets what?
