SAMPLE -- It’s Time for the Saints To Come Home!
It is impossible to give a preview of the specific script as it is written on music score software. Your version will be a PDF file .
This is a very intricate piece. It is very much designed like an orchestral presentation. There are eight different parts, each part independent, yet blending with the others. At times all say the same thing, but rarely! There is a lot of echo effect. You will need to know how to read the rhythms of music notation to be successful with this piece. You may even desire to use a metronome to keep the pace steady. Although, please do not use it during performance, only as a practice tool. When we first presented it we used twenty speakers, two to a part (It was originally created as a ten-part piece. It’s since been tightened.)
It was designed to have two rows of people. Four chairs in the front, and four standing behind them. Risers will do, too, but be sure that the players stand in the following indicated position. The sounds coming from the positions make this arrangement necessary. As you practice you will see how it fits together.

In a normal drama you have the ability to use various tempos to give a piece variety and hold interest. In this choral reading you have that tool taken from you. It is the very steadfastness of the tempo that makes it strong.
You do, however, need to place a great deal of emphasis on the dynamics of the piece. The markings are the same as you will find on a musical score. For example:
p = soft
mp = medium soft
f = loud
fff = very loud
Crescendo means get louder gradually or as gradually as indicated in the score.
Decrescendo means get softer in the same way.
The performers will need to pay close attention to when they are to bring their part to the fore and when to let others be dominant.
